I’ve got something a lot more profitable for you to do today than spend money on Cyber Monday deals!
…and this is something really heartfelt. I honestly, genuinely believe this is the best way to make serious money in your spare time, or humongous money if you hit this full time.
And I’m talking about something you might think old hat, or past it, or “heard it all before” – but if that’s your reaction to what I’m about to say…

..that would simply be dumb.
Because my 18 year old son (my younger son – his older brother is already successful) just started his Amazon business, because I told him it was simply the easiest, most guaranteed, most straightforward income you can make from your kitchen table, in your pajamas.
…and he was quite envious of his elder brother’s success!
Now, I understand something of why/how people can seem to “fail” at this…
Because you need to prime the pump. You need a way to get Amazon to rank your product, so that sales start coming, so that the natural rankings then stick.
….because his product was just sitting there with no sales!
So (and actually I need to give credit to my elder son who, after just a couple of years part time is now making more money as a student part time than most adults in full time employment) I developed a proprietary Amazon launch technique that…
…in one week
- Propelled his product to page 1 for a number of targetted phrases
- Got the product an "Amazon's Choice" badge!
- Got him the initial tranche of 5 star reviews!!!
All of that, in one week.
Literally, 7 days exactly after we started this technique, nothing nothing nothing all week, then BANG! Page one, organic Amazon traffic, amazing conversion rate, and SALES! PROFIT! You can imagine how excited he was. This is the ranking for one of the main targeted keywords:
That was just 3 weeks ago – we haven’t even completed a month and look at this for sales:
Sure, that may not be massively impressive, but $8,000 per month sales (which is what that is going to equate to) is not bad your first month!

He Chose a Terrible Product
Yup – you know some of those Amazon products which it seems like every single small seller is selling the exact same item? You do a search and you get a whole page of almost identical results, of the identical product? Probably sourced from the same factory?
Super high competition, super saturated kitchen product niche. The classic “ASM” product. Not what I would normally have recommended.
But encouragement is thee most important thing – so I didn’t discourage my son, instead helping and brainstorming how we could make it work.
Despite it being completely saturated on Amazon.
And yet, even for this completely saturated, over-sold product, with the launch technique we used, well you’ve seen those results. Just the first few weeks!
Failure is Impossible!
I really believe that.
Well, I mean anything is possible, but I really believe it’s pretty hard to fail on Amazon, if you follow a disciplined approach, and use a proprietary product launch tactic like the one we used here. I mean, it is possible that you do not get a complete winner out of the box, and may need to reset and find another product, but I do not see how it is possible not to sell out your first (and any subsequent) orders of inventory at a profit.

November 26, 2018You do not need to keep or handle the inventory at all. That’s one of the beauties of Amazon, you can have them store and fulfill your orders, completely hands off for you. I love it.

November 27, 2018How would you compare blogging and Amazon FBA? I think it takes a lot longer to achieve success in blogging, but on the other hand it’s not so risky as you really don’t need much money to run a blog, whereas you usually need to spend quite a lot of money on inventory if you want to sell on Amazon and you never know if it’s going to sell. So I suppose that the ROI from selling on Amazon is much bigger and you can start making money faster, but it’s more risky than blogging. Plus you also need to be a company to run an Amazon business.

November 27, 2018Well, all I can repeat is what I tell my own family and friends is my best recommendation – Amazon. Blogging can work well, but you have no guraranted of success – you need to build large amounts of user interaction and viral sharing to get much traffic. Amazon on the other hand – if you lack the cash to start – get an additional or night job, get enough together for a small inventory order and go from there. As I said in the post, I think that with some application and common sense it is impossible to do so badly that you wont sell your inventory at a profit. It’s as close to guaranteed as anything could be, Amazon is so vast and the traffic so relentless! My son picked about the worst most saturated product you could think of, and look at his results, just getting started!

Is this launch tactic different than the ranking Amazon content within the SEOBT members area? I’ve been focused primarily on my Shopify store(s) but have been planning (more like procrastinating) on moving things over to Amazon. Interested to know if this is a different process than what is currently in the members area – if yes, how does one get access when already an ASM member?

November 27, 2018Hi Tav – yes it is different. the Amazon module in SEO BT is about ranking an Amazon page in Google. This is about getting your product to sell and ranked in Amazon itself. Hope that makes sense!

November 28, 2018Hi John – have a look at the webinar replay linked to in the post above – that explains it all. It’s not really something that is easy to type out here – in simple terms, you find a manufacturer eg on Alibaba (very easy) and get them to produce the product for you.

November 30, 2018Hi John – thank you for the quick response. I asked that question only because I’ve been selling on Amazon for 3 years. Just recently launched a new product and had mediocre results from the two step store front URL deal ranking system. People just weren’t taking the 95% off offer anymore. Strange thing. I’ve implemented some of the best software and techniques for this particular product launch (not going to name names, but I put a lot of effort in to implementation), and the results have been disappointing. Would love to rescue this launch from the abyss of falling rank. Not asking you to give away your method, but is there anything you could shed more light on?
